New Canadian and Immigrant Settlement Program

This initiative, spearheaded by the Nigerians in Canada on Public Policy and Leadership (NICONPPL), aims to support new immigrants in navigating the complexities of Canadian immigration and settlement.

1. Immigration Guidance:

We help new immigrants understand the legal and procedural landscape of Canadian immigration, ensuring they make informed decisions from the start.

2. Resettlement Support:

Many new immigrants arrive in Canada with high hopes and expectations, only to be faced with challenges such as housing shortages, loneliness, unemployment, career transitions, family strain, financial stress, and mental health concerns. We are here to support them through these hurdles.

3. Bonding and Legal Support:

We also assist new immigrants who may find themselves in immigration detention and need someone in good standing to help sign for their release and ensure compliance with immigration conditions.

4. Temporary Housing Assistance:

Upon arrival, many immigrants experience immediate frustration—either due to missed airport pickups, hotel booking issues, or no support system in place. In such situations, NICONPPL is activated as soon as we receive a call. We promptly arrange temporary housing within our diaspora community and guide newcomers on their next steps, whether through legal counsel, family, or other support networks.

5. Financial Literacy & Income Opportunity:

We empower immigrants with financial knowledge on how to make, save, grow, and protect money. Topics include Increase cash flow, Debt Management, Building a Strong Financial Foundation, Proper Protection Asset Accumulation,  Retirement Strategies and  Wealth Preservation that would enable our community understand the economic landscape of North America.

6. Language and Cultural Interpretation:

Language barriers and cultural misunderstandings often prolong immigration verification. Limited English proficiency, strong accents, or difficulty explaining and understanding.
